Dog-Friendly Restaurants in NYC

Every NYC dog owner dreams of great dog-friendly restaurants in NYC. Since NYC apartments are tiny, dog owners are always looking for adventures to have with their furry friends. While NYC offers a huge variety of dog parks, it’s nice to know you can also sit down to a meal with your precious pooch.

NYC Dog-Friendly Tea House

If you’re in SoHo with your NYC doggo, visit Harney and Sons Tea (433 Broome St.). This quaint tea shop sells a huge assortment of Harney and Sons tea for you to take home as a souvenir, but there is also a tea counter where you can get yourself a nice warm tea. There are 275 different flavors to choose from. Dogs are allowed inside, which is wonderful in this chilly NYC weather. There is a tea tasting bar where every dog gets one free tasting per visit!

Brunch with your Pup

Lots of restaurants let your NYC dog dine outside with you, but only a few allow them to come indoors. Verde on Smith in Brooklyn (216 Smith St.)  is one of those where NYC dogs are allowed inside to dine with you. When we say they can dine with you, there is even a dog-friendly menu. Try the salmon crepe for your canine cutie!

Italian Pooch

Want to enjoy a NYC pizza out on the town and bring your dog with you? Try Gnocco in the East Village! Gnocco (337 E 10th St) has a dog-friendly covered back porch. While your dog gets cozy, you can enjoy authentic cuisine from Northern Italy that will have you feeling like you’re on the streets of Modena.

Wine and Roses

Would you believe there is a dog-friendly wine bar in NYC? Located at 225 West Broadway, Terra Wine bar has a heated outdoor area where dogs can join you and your date for a romantic night out on the town. Pizza and wood-fired pizzas will fill your tummies, and your hearts, with joy!

Dog Menus

Some NYC restaurants are dog-friendly, but some go the extra distance and have special dog menus!

Avoca is a cozy trendy location that offers bottomless Brunch and happy hours on Mondays. While their human menu is indeed decadent, Avoca’s dog-friendly menu includes dishes such as German Shepard’s Pie ($15) which is described as “homemade ground beef blend topped with fresh mashed potatoes” and Dog-sserts such as dog-friendly ice cream ($8). Judy Z’ NYC (17th Ave. S)  is a fun sports bar where both you and your pup can cheer on your favorite teams! Judy Z’s “furbaby cafe” served up dishes such as The Grrrrrilla ($12) which is described as “seasoned grilled chicken, sweet potatoes with string beans,” and The Saluki Tzu ($14) “Fresh water Alaskan salmon with steamed rice.” They also have “dog water” which is CBF & vitamin infused water.

Ooh la la! Loulou NYC (176 8th Avenue) will have your NYC dog feeling as though they have hopped on a plane to Paris! Their perfectly plated doggy dishes include steak & eggs, grilled chicken, seared salmon, and a pupsicle. Prices range from $10 to $24.

If you’re in midtown (perhaps seeing your pup’s photo on our giant billboard), swing by the Barking Dog at 329 West 49th St. They are so welcoming to NYC dog’s they’ll even give you a drink special when you bring your pet!  They have three simple pup meals, “pup beef,” “pup chicken,” and ‘pup veggie.” Prices range from $7-$9.
