Most Instagrammable Spots in New York City

When visiting NYC, you obviously want to take tons of photos and show them off on Instagram and other social media platforms. You need to find the most Instagrammable spots in New York City. What are Instagrammable locations in NYC? These would be locations that are undeniably New York City, such as famous landmarks, perfect for a New York City photoshoot. So here are your perfect photo locations for NYC photos.

The Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge is considered one of the 7 wonders of the modern world. It’s trademark steel suspension cables and gothic stone towers are a photographer’s dream to work with. There is a trick, though, to taking great photos on the Brooklyn Bridge. You have to go at sunrise. Because the Brooklyn Bridge is perfect for a NYC photo, everyone wants to visit and pose. If you go later in the day, or at sunset, you’ll struggle to find a spot that you aren’t sharing with at least a hundred other people. As such, for the best Brooklyn Bridge photos, arrive at sunrise.

Another tip for taking photos at the Brooklyn Bridge is to take photos on the Brooklyn side of the bridge, not the Manhattan side. There are two reasons for this. The first is that it’s simply less crowded. The second is that if you are taking photos in front of the Brooklyn tower then you have the iconic Manhattan skyline in the background! You can also visit nearby Brooklyn Bridge Park to get gorgeous photos with the Brooklyn Bridge in the background.

Bethesda Terrace

If you’re seeking a great spot in Central Park for a New York City photoshoot, Bethesda Terrace needs to be on your list. Once again, this is a location best visited close to sunrise. Bethesda Terrace is most recognizable for its iconic statue “The Angel of the Waters.” This stunning location has been featured in movies and television shows such as Enchanted, Avengers, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Gossip Girl, and Elf. If so many movies choose to shoot at this location, you know it’s good. You’ll also notice as the day goes on, many brides and quincineras choose to shoot in front of the Angel of the Waters as well. Also in Bethesda Terrace is the Bethesda Terrace Overpass. There’s often a musician playing music under the overpass. Go into this area and you’ll find a beautiful secret area covered in intricate Minton tiles. This will also be fabulous for photos.

Subway Stations

Subway stations may seem like the opposite of what you seek for a gorgeous New York City photoshoot, but trust us on this one. The subway is iconically New York City. The contrast of the old subway and industrial cars with a beautiful dress or suit is extremely effective. Opposites attract, if you will. Your NYC photoshoot in the subway will be cool and edgy. One can also find stunning public art in the subway. For example, the 28th street 6 line subway has gorgeous mosaics of flowers that are perfect for photos. The Oculus at the World Trade Center is modern, sleek, and stunning. The 81st Street-Museum of Natural History on the B and C lines has depictions of animals and aquatic life. The Fulton Street Station makes people think of a space ship. You can also take photos in the subway at any time of day or night. The NYC subway system does run 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The crowds can even add character to your photos.
