NY Comic Con 2023- Everything You Need to Know
New York Comic Con, also known as NYCC, is an event attended by fans of comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies, and television.
In the field of pop culture, NYCC is the largest and most exciting convention, being considered one of the most relevant events in its field on the east coast of the United States. Every year in the month of October, it opens its doors in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, one of the largest convention centers in the country. It is currently the second largest convention in the United States, after San Diego Comic-Con.
Produced by Reed Exhibitors, the staff in charge of New York Comic Con, and the editors of publications in the entertainment business such as Variety, the inaugural event was first held in December 2006 and since 2010 the festival of anime New York has been endured with the New York Comic Con, uniting two cultures in the same place.
Currently it is a highly anticipated event and attracts tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world, some dressed as their favorite characters (cosplays).
The variety of topics and products presented at NYCC is very wide. The fair addresses the latest trends and developments in the field and because the main players in the global entertainment industry attend, one of the outstanding points of the fair is that, through the panels and autograph sessions, fans can interact directly with your favorite creative authors and get exclusive viewings of future releases. Screening rooms show movies and television shows months before they reach the general public.
The event places special emphasis on creating a professional connection. With times specifically designated for trade visitors, NYCC offers a unique marketplace for entertainment industry players. This includes comic bookstores, buyers, sellers, licensors, collectors, librarians, educators and, of course, representatives of the media and press.
The relevance of New York Comic Con goes far beyond the city limits. Being a central platform for the industry, it allows companies and creatives to present their products and services to a wide audience, while establishing business contacts.
We can say that New York Comic Con is a paradise for comics and pop culture fans, but also a very interesting event for professionals in the entertainment industry.
This 2023, New York Comic Con will take place over 4 days from Thursday, October 12 to Sunday, October 15
