Snow in New York
A snowstorm has affected Buffalo, a town in the state of New York that borders Canada, covering part of the area this Saturday with two meters of snow, according to the National Weather Service. The storm caused road closures and flight cancellations in western New York state.
The storm broke daily snowfall records and even more snow is forecast for the rest of the week.

According to Hochul, cleanup tasks continue this Monday in various areas of the north, west and center of the state, where the storm caused the closure of roads and flight cancellations.
As for victims, the authorities have confirmed that there are at least two deaths, residents of Erie County, who died of cardiac events due to the effort they made to remove the snow.
Similar multi-day storms have brought heavier snowfall than in the past to New York, but the ferocity of Friday’s storm appeared to threaten the state record for most snowfall in a 24-hour period: 50 inches (127 centimeters) than fell on Camden, New York, on February 1, 1966.
National Weather Service meteorologist Jason Alumbaugh, who is based in Buffalo, said it was too early to say if any of this year’s snowfall exceeded that record.

In the New York city, the weather is mainly humid continental, with very cold winters, very hot summers and moderate rains that fall throughout the year, which turn into storms during the summer and snow in winter. However, New York’s proximity to the Atlantic coast means that winters are not so harsh, nor are summers so hot. The cold and the constant rains generate the fall of nine during the winter.
The coldest months are between December and March, while the hottest is between July and August.
