How to get to the island?

It can only be accessed through the small port of entry located on the island. The ferry ride lasts approximately 10 minutes and during this time you can enjoy the impressive views of the city skyline.

From Manhattan, ferries are available every hour every day, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., departing from the Battery Maritime Building (10 South Street), located between the South Ferry Terminal and the helicopter dock. From Brooklyn, ferries are available on weekends only, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., departing from Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

 The cost of a round-trip ticket is $2 in both cases, although the first ferries are free on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) if taken before 11:30. Tickets can be purchased on the island’s official website or at the port ticket offices.
