Times Square is a great place to celebrate Valentine’s Day. While some may consider Times Square to be a tourist trap, true New Yorkers know the romantic opportunities it holds. From elegant restaurants to giant billboards, these are our favorite Times Square Valentine’s Day ideas.

Dinner and a Broadway Show

A romantic unique New York evening is to take your date out on the town for dinner and a Broadway show. While many Times Square restaurants offer dinner prix-fixe menus, some are more romantic than others.

If your date likes to show off, take her to Sardi’s in Times Square. Sardi’s is an icon of the theatreworld, the place to see and be seen. It’s very common for Broadway stars and their fans to be seen milling about.

Marseille is a Times Square restaurant that will make you feel transported to Paris! The traditional French cuisines will dazzle your taste buds and the lighting is perfect for romance.

Rosevale Kitchen and Cocktail Bar is located in the Civilian Hotel. This Times Square Hotel was designed by a Broadway set designer. Have a meal in the restaurant and then post-show return for speakeasy style cocktails.

Renew Your Vows in Times Square

The Times Square Alliance presents “Love in Times Square” each year. Through “Love in Times Square,” couples can propose, get married, and renew vows throughout Valentine’s Day week! If you think ahead, you can even be a designated Times Square Alliance couple! Register online on the Times Square Alliance website.

The Times Square vow renewal is open to the public. Couples of all ages and backgrounds are invited to the famous Times Square red steps to publicly renew their vows. The event begins February 14th, 6pm. It’s also worth pointing out this even happens directly underneath one of our Welcome to Times Square billboards! RiseNY is a Times Square museum dedicated to the history of NYC. The culminating moment is a simulated flight over New York City on New Year’s Eve. It is truly magical and will leave you wanting to kiss your date with excitement.

If your date loves theatre, visit the Museum of Broadway. This is the only museum in the world dedicated to the history of Broadway, and it’s conveniently located in the heart of Times Square.
